Living Library: Gender Equality - 24th April, Liepāja

llustration by Maria Beatrice Tarabusi for COTAF Project - Connected Towns for a Shared Future

Apr 23, 2026

The second Living Library event dedicated to the theme of Gender Equality

On April 24th, we will open five "living books" at Impact Hub Liepāja.📖

Behind each of these five people lies their unique story – chapters written with courage, tears, laughter and perseverance. They are our people who have agreed to become "living books" for a moment to entrust you with their most precious thing – their life story.

📝 Monta, Kaspars, Kristīne, Kaspars and Līna.

Each person is unique. And when they choose to share their experience, it becomes something very valuable – it is possible to see the world from a different perspective.

Come, sit down and become a reader.

Dare to ask and, most importantly, dare to listen.

These stories change not only how we see these other five people, but also how we see ourselves and our Liepāja.

The Format

The Living Library is a participatory format that originated in Denmark and has spread across Europe: “living books” are real people who share their stories with readers through brief and authentic conversations, breaking down prejudice and opening spaces for mutual understanding. The COTAF project brings this tool to Italy, with a specific focus on gender equality, migrant inclusion, European values, and active citizenship.
